Never Give Up

Paige De Ponte's career spans thirty years and 39 countries around the globe as a visual artist. An award winning photographer, publisher, writer, producer and documentary filmmaker.  It all began shooting high fashion 1990 in Europe for Versace who gave her the first big break from there to High Fashion editorials...

At 29, a single mother of two, she packed herself and family off to Italy to pursue her dream of photography. She worked in Paris at Elle Studios alongside such greats as Jean Louis Sieff, Andre Rau and Patrick Demarchelier who mentored and inspired her to shoot in black-and-white. In 1996, Paige moved to New York and was published in over 200 fashion editorials and campaigns.  Paige then founded GAIA (GLOBAL ART IN ACTION), in the hope of inspiring awareness and change on critical world issues and in 2000, her first project was GAIA I was released.

World Adventures - Coffee Table Books

GAIA I  ‘Journey Into Vanishing Worlds’ is a fine art photography book consisting of 244 toned images shot in eight bio-diverse areas in danger of irreversible destruction. GAIA Paige's Non Profit Organization donated the proceeds from the book to Conservation International’s ‘Campaign To Save The Hotspots, including her second book, GAIA II ‘Song of the Vanishing Tribe’. GAIAI II won a publishing award from the Publisher Marketing Association and was nominated for the prestigious Nautilus Award.  Paige also donated books  to the areas and tribes photographed so they could profit directly from all proceeds.

Paige's passion is preserving the environment and giving a voice to critical issues facing our humanity and planet.  Today, after traveling the world and learning so much about the need to preserve our natural and cultural treasures she devotes her time to the issues facing her families ranch in Kanaio Maui.  Currently Paige continues her quest for conservation in her  work and on her own land; and ranch Triple L Ranch in Kanaio Maui, Hawaii she educates guests on the precious last remaining open range areas left.

One of her projects also included "The Kanaio Native Hawaiian Reforestation Project"  created in 2012.

Paige is currently working on a new coffee table book entitled "Kanaio". A story of images to help preserve the area.  And in the fall of 2018 she will be collaborating with Mindful Studios for a Documentary on Kanaio; a region in Hawaii called an Ahupua`a. To be an awakening of the history and culture of the area and present critical issues the community is being threatened by political and commercial development.

Paige's Fine art photography Editions hang in the worlds largest and most valuable art collections: The Niarchos Family Collection - one of her large famous African Elephant Collection Prints hangs in the Greek shipping magnet's family home in NYC. And an awarded writer,  Paige has also written multiple scripts, "K2TK" (Keys to the Kingdom) ( awarded ) which promises to propel audiences with her unique visual prose as gritty, raw true story of a professional water man reaches into the soul and brings it out the other side of the crashing wave. "FOUR WALLS" - Psychological Thriller. "The JOURNEY" animation.

Recently Paige wrote her own memoir which released in 2016 entitled  "Nobody's Girl" under the pen name "Sybil Paige".  She writes a daily recovery blog on face book and her website, inspiring messages for living in recovery.

Quote from Paige: “I have always felt that my talents and experiences have a higher purpose, writing,  film and all visual mediums offer maximum exposure to the soul. I want people to be riveted;  to have an overall experience, visual, emotional, physical and spiritual.

I want them to walk away feeling they got more then they expected.”

“…one of the most exciting new visual artists of the twenty-first century”. Michael Eric Stein, Columnist for the Los Angeles Times and Films in Review
